Deerhunter formed in is an eclectic American indie-rock band led by the convincingly peculiar Bradford Cox, hailing from Atlanta, Georgia, U. Produced by Nicolas Vernhes, the record features Black Lips member Cole Alexander, and earned universal critical acclaim. I had heard bad reviews about their concert in LA, so I got a little nervous about the show, and although they stated an hour late-- the band let in the audience at a about 30 minutes later than the time doors were, but they were finishing a beautiful soundcheck with nice melodies and Bradford Cox remembering lyrics. Bradford did surveys with the crowd asking which settings they liked the guitar on and was very friendly and said Portland would be the night maybe the only night on tour where they play the entire set completely. Atlas Sound was surreal, the bass was so intense, but it was awesome. Then there was a VERY smooth transition where band members crept on and worked with the beat of Atlas Sound and transformed it into the start of the Deerhunter set. The group did a mix of songs off their newest album, Fading Frontier, and older songs off of multiple albums. During the song Desire Lines, Cox brought up a little boy who he had "known since he was a squirrel", who was the "son of Portland" to play the shaker and mess with the synthesizer, which ended the show on a more personal and sentimental note.
